Final Answer, Media Temple

Well, after much contemplation, I've decided to purchase a Media Temple account to handle my email and web needs. For $200 a year it's worth having everything in one location for me. I will now begin the long and arduous process of migrating my email from .Mac to my new theorythree email account.

I tolerated the webmail thing for as long as I could. And while both Apple (.mac) and Google (gmail) have it down, something about it still just doesn't jive.

Gmail, by far has the zippiest interface and feature-rich application. But Apple's .Mac webmail interface is just like being in Mail.app, which was a plus for me.

But in the end, I don't like having to keep a browser window open just to check my mail. The Google Notifier seemed like a viable solution but unfortunately it isn't compatible with Google Apps, only gmail.

Who knows, maybe Apple will improve their service just in time for me to renew. I have 327 days to change my mind.
