Google Provides More Link Data

02/06/2007

As posted on Official Google Webmaster Central Blog yesterday, Google will finally be supplying more link data.

Prior to this release, Google only provided one method for evaluating link traffic to any given site. The link operator (link:mysite.com).

I found this to be somewhat useful, but I rarely used it to make any real online marketing decisions.

Developers/site owners can now use Google Web Developer Tools to see more details.

The listings sub-divide the link information into internal and external links, which is quite handy if you're trying to gauge outside link versus internal link popularity.
